Inaugural Symposium

The inaugural symposium of the Hellenic Institute of Advanced Studies (HIAS) took place on July 8, 2022 at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens, Greece.

The HIAS mission is to build scientific bridges between scientists of the diaspora and colleagues in Greece in STEM-related fields.

The symposium explored themes and actions for creating and strengthening these bridges. A number of lively discussions outlined societal challenges that could be addressed by science and engineering.

Several actionable ideas were presented to strengthen bridges among researchers across Greece and the Greece diaspora with an emphasis on the younger generations.
